I Sold a Short Story to Lovecraft eZine

It is official, I have sold a short story to the Lovecraft eZine. “The Weird Studies of Harley Warren” is Lovecraft’s “The Statement of Randolph Carter” as told by the other character in that story. It’s not necessary to have read Lovecraft’s version, but it helps.

Writing this story was a lot of fun. I really liked developing Harley Warren as a character, and even though [SPOILER!] Lovecraft killed him off, I have two more stories planned with Harley as the protagonist. Those tales will similarly deconstruct classic Mythos tales and present them from another perspective.

Mike Davis, the ‘zine’s editor, recently stated that he wants only the highest quality material, and he only accepts a small number of submissions. That makes me happy. I chose to submit to this ‘zine because I read it and enjoy it, and can attest to the quality of the writing.
