Waiting is a trap. There will always be reasons to wait. The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons and results, and reasons simply don’t count. -Dr. Robert Anthony
We seem to live in an immediate gratification, all-or-nothing culture. We want it, and we want it now, regardless of what “it” may be. We want success, we want money, we want stuff, we want to fit into smaller clothes. We either look for quick fixes, or we seem to become discouraged and give up. We ignore the little things that we’re capable of doing. They may not be grand gestures, but they add up over time and they count. We can read a few pages of a book, write a paragraph or two on a short story or novel, take a single class, save a couple of bucks’ worth of loose change, eat one lighter meal, and take a short walk a couple of times a week. We can wait for all conditions to be right to start the big thing, or we can move forward with a small thing.
