Angels and ministers of grace defend us from self-made martyrs trying to spin stay home orders as attacks on religious freedom.
A pastor in Virginia who continued holding church services in defiance of a ban on gatherings of 10 or more people has died of COVID-19. On Easter Sunday his church announced that he had passed a week after being diagnosed with the virus. Apparently he initially dismissed the symptoms. Now his wife has it, too. His daughter is advising people to stay at home and practice social distancing.
This isn’t the first Virginia pastor to be felled by his own hubris. On March 26 “just the flu” truther who claimed COVID-19 was “mass hysteria” and a plot to harm Trump died on a ventilator. He’d traveled to New Orleans in an apparent attempt to purge that city of sin during Mardi Gras.
